Did you try some dismantler places??? LA Porsche Dismantlers or Part Heaven?

Did you try the online sources??? Pelican Parts, Suncoast Porsche? Sometimes there are variances between dealers.

There are usually tons of adverts in the magazine Excellence.

I usually pay the dealer about $850, installed. Don't ask how many I've gone through! (Well, not PERSONALLY gone through - not a scratch on me! )

Other Rennlisters have reported favorably about replacements by Safelite auto glass.. You might also check w/your insurance agent since most companies have a deal for windshield replacement services. Also try an archive search, since there have been a number of posts on this subject.

I would caution you on not using a knowledgeable Porsche repair person. The top of the dash has to be removed to repair the windscreen. Therefore, you want someone who has done Porsches before. You might safe a few dollars and they might damage the top of your dash.

Kenneth
Had a moment & found the thread I had remembered. I've not had any experience w/Safelite. Hope this is helpful.
