Mag bra input
Now that I already bought a semi-used Mag bra, (for long road trips only) is there any thing I should know about it? I know all the stuff about not leaving it on too long and making sure its clean and dry before putting it on.
Has anybody had one fly off?

I have one, and would buy one again. Just be careful that the back is clean before placing on car, also that it is even with hood, with nothing overlapping a leading edge to catch wind.
Yes, I had one fly off on me during a very windy day at about 65 miles an hour. Think it was because I overlapped the Magbra outside the hood area, and my car had a few recent coats of wax. Now what I do when placing on car is have a thin piece of racing tape about 1" long taped to front of bra.

Three Wheelin'
Clean and dry (car and bra) are crucial. I've used the MagBra on my SC for almost 9 years, and it works great. I have never had it fly off, but I'm always very careful about making sure nothing overlaps, and that all the edges are flat against the car. In cold temps, it can get a little stiff -- sometimes some effort is required to ensure every square millimeter is stuck to the car.
BTW, I don't use it on the 993 because I put ArmourFend on it -- I use use the 993 more than the SC, so installing/removing the MagBra constantly would become a pain.

Stedge - prices vary with location and market demand. On Rennlist, I've seen prices as low as $300, if memory serves me, to as high as $800. I am about to get the Xpel put on my car tomorrow. Price: $850. There is only one installer with any experience in my area so I didn't have the luxury of picking and choosing for a better price.
As fo coverage, well, that depends on how pristine you want to keep your car. At the very least, get the full front bumper package since this area will get the most abuse. I'm opting for the full front bumper kit, mirror kit and fender opening kit

How much you cover is really up to you, they will custom fit and cover just about any part of your car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Hi Mark,
Where are you getting it done? I wouldn't mind stopping by to check out the work. After I have the new front clip and spoiler installed I want to get this done.
Thanks,
Sam

Sam - Rob Freeman is doing part of the work today (headlight surrounds, fender openings, mirrors) but will work on the bumper and lower bumper panel after the body shop fixes the damage from last week's parking incident. So, yeah, ring me up if you want to take a look at the car!

I installed the kit last week. Overall good fit and I would say a 3 or 4 out of 10 in terms of difficulty...just be patient and use plenty of solution. I have some light minor scratches where I pressed a bit too hard and didn't use enough solution but these come out with Maguires plastic polish or scratch remover.
A few pieces of advice though:
1. Get the hood piece that goes 1/3 up the hood (it was customized for someone else) rather than the one that just goes above the front emblem. Also, I'd recommend you get it w/o the emblem cutout and just place the emblem on top of it...much cleaner and one less alignment thing for you to deal with.
2. My upper bumper piece needed to be trimmed a bit where it met the piece which goes below the headlight - not a bid deal but have an exacto knife handy.
3. Get a chair or workshop stool - my car is lowered and my back was a bit achy afterwards...affeced my golf swing the next day (at least that's my excuse ).
That said, I think that the Invica-shield people are very responsive and helpful and would purchase from them again. Plus the price is pretty attractive at $150-200 plus my sweat labor.
btw, I just had the Euro TT bumper put on so this was a timely project befor my car collected road rash
Good luck <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />
