Post Cylinder numbers/Order

Please let me know if this is correct:
Left upper bank/driver side
1-closest to rear bumper
2-middle
3-furthest from rear bumper

left lower bank/driver side
4-closest to rear bumper
5-middle
6-furthest from rear bumper

I am figuring these are the same on both the drivers and passenger sides..Please let me know if this is right

The firing order is explained in the service manuals. They have a lot of other info which I think you would find interesting also.

Each cylinder in a 993 Carrera has two spark plugs, but only one piston.

Firing order = 1-6-2-4-3-5

Does this mean that one of the spark plugs in each cylinder is a spare? Can I save some weight by removing the extra spark plug & throwing it away???

Robert,

Ha!

I think the original poster thought/thinks that since there is an upper and a lower valve cover on each side... That there must be pistons under each valve cover... On each side... Upper... And lower... Maybe.

I dunno, anyhow... I hope my crude cyber diagram above helped make the flat 6 concept easier to understand.
