Gates Krikit V-belt tension tester
Does anyone have a source to purchase this tool? The Gates site has a description, but no link to buy it. I didn't find it online at Autozone, Kragen, Pep Boys, the usual suspects.

I gave up trying to find one at a reasonable price. I broke down and got one from Sunset Porsche - though their prices are great relative to other dealers, its still ridiculously high for what this thing is.

Last month it was cheaper to buy the belt tester from a Porsche dealer ($46.21USD) than it was to buy the same gates tester from NAPA/Autozone/etc. ($68-90USD). I couldn't believe it either...

Never bought from these guys, but Rockauto.com (https://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/dbpage/prt/64/91107) lists it for $12.23 (special order).
Does anybody's pro shop actually use a tension guage, or just the "educated thumb test"? I've never seen my guy use one.

This testing procedure was specified in a TSB dated December 15, 1994. The "educated thumb" is probably still widely used, but the tester is much more accurate.
"Effective immediately, the V-belt tension for the alternator, engine cooling fan and the air conditioning compressor must be checked using the new belt tension tester special tool 9574. The thumb pressure method used up to now is no longer valid."
