David,
Being the weight shmuck who weighs every ounce on my car. The sliders are 4 lbs 15 ounces for a single seat. However, i think you would be sitting very very low. So how tall are you?
Cheers,
Boris

Looks great! I would love to get gt3 seats, but I'm a large man (250 lbs and only 5'9""....ouch) and they are a little snug for me. I love food too much but I might have to use a little duct tape (on my mouth)to try and fit. They may outlaw harnesses for DE unless you have a race seat so I may have to get new seats soon.

hey guys... aren't the 'gt3-996' seats slightly wider than the 'gt3-993'???
btw: boris.... your cab is lookin sweet!!! nice mods! is a rear seat delete in your future? i'm thinkin' of pulling everything out & simply re-carpeting... would save a few more lbs.
cheers.

i think the rear seat delete is coming very soon. i think i need some help on how to pull up the carpet & glue and get some light weight solution in place.
i will say that the gt3-996 seat fits very very well. in fact if it is wider (which i have no idea if it is or is not) - i say great. hopefully gives me a little more room.

Hello,
I guess I should start out by saying that I'm actually a 968 owner, not 993. However I believe our seat setups are identical (993 seats are swappable into the 968) and thus this procedure should(?) work with the 968.
A 968 member had attempted to fit 996 sport seats into the 968. To cut a long story short, the seats ended up fitting (w/ modifications) but sat too high up. Do you think modifying the rails according to the above procedure would eliminate this problem? Thanks in advance.

yes the 86.5+ 944 & 968 (i used to own both) seat setup is the same.
After seeing the factory gt3 seat and trying to fit that in the car without the above brackets/rail setup - i can see that it is at least 1.5" taller.
now with sport seats you have a different problem, which is they are not side mounts and the rails are built into the seat. so no, i don't think this setup would work for them.
cheers,
boris

Anir - im thinking of the gt3 seats in the TT (your pics look great) ... can you get in and out of them easily for daily street use?? seems i had to do some gymnastics to get out when i sat in a gt3..

David one other thing i didn't mention is that with the brey-krause side mounts you can recline them a bit (which is exactly what i did). I find them very very comfortable.
