Question Mocal Oil Coolers

Has anyone actually purchased a Mocal or other brand of oil cooler and fabricated brackets and oil lines to install it behind the front bumper?

I've seen photos of the two stock coolers seam welded together as well as Robert Lintons photos of the two coolers installed, although from the photos I was not really able to tell what was going on as far as the routing of the different oil lines.

To me it seems logical to put an extra oil cooler behind the front bumper. I know the cargraphic cooler works well, but I not going to compromise my A/C performance; it's just to hot and humid where I live.

Ron, if You want the dual stock coolers sandwiched together they work great. I can have one made for You if You get the bug. Cost is 650$ if we use your cooler or 925 with 2 new coolers. They bolt in the stock location and use the existing stock lines. Agin, this is Race tested in Texas heat and works terrific. Eric in Chicago has one ordered and will be giving some feedback after he uses it on the track in his RaceCab...

Glen, do you pressure test the cooler after you weld? How can we get in contact with you?

Guys I have my fabricator do it and have not had any problem ever. He does not weld on or near the core, just the outer shell. We will be glad to pressure test them though, no problem. Mine was pressure tested in a Club Race in Texas heat... and worked like a champ. I will post pics when we get Eric in Chicago's finished and hopefully he will post a DIY on the install. You can email me at porschenut@hotmail.com if you need any additional info or PM me on this forum.

The boys at Mind Over Motorsports in San Diego have been doing the piggyback approach for at least a year . I do not know the cost but I do know that they have done many installations of this sort. Their number is: (858) 693-9911 Ask them for references. They can provide SoCal references for you. <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />
