I finally got myself to dissassemble the door panel and take some pics. I posted a long time ago about my install, and how I kept a stock looking vehicle with no extra holes and awsome bass response and good sound image.
For all of you that email me asking for some pics, I apologize.

Hello David--
I'd like to ask you a few questions on your installation of MBQ 3-way
speakers into your 993. I'm about to undertake the same DIY and considering
your exact approach. In your prior Rennlist post you wrote:
"I bought a set of MBquart 3-way speakers, consisting of 8" woofers, 4"mid
and tweeters. I installed the 8" in th efront doors (just like the factory
6.5") without any clearence problems, I then mounted the 4" mid directly on
the speaker grill of the factory hifi map pockets, followed by the tweeter
inside the factory housing."
I have searched for MBQ 3-way speaker model but could only locate this
one, <a href="http://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/products/prod_detail.asp?isArchive=&cat=auto&series=premium%20series&strt=1&model =PSD+316" target="_blank">PSD 316</a>. Is this the one you've installed, with 6 1/2" subwoofer?
Yes, the tweeter mounts. I assume that you've reused the factory tweeter pods. Any issues installing the MBQ tweeters into the factory pods?
How do they come off, BTW?

AMP,
I believe the speaker set I have is no longer made. MBquart made them for a long time, and they were a bit expensive and hard to install (3-way, 8" woofer). Why dont you search for them in ebay? I bet you will find a new set. I'm sorry but I dont have the set model, and I dont think the model number on the midrange driver is what you need, in fact I took that closeup having that question in mind.
About the tweeter mounting, yes I'm using the factory housing, and I believe they are screwed in from behind, or, they might have a mounting bracket attached to the door panel and you just have to twist it out. I dont believe they had any problems installing the tweeters on the factory pods, I remember the installer telling me they were the exact same size.
If you are wondering, it does sound great and the bass is heard and felt. You loose a bit if you open the window, I think its because you loose its seal.
looking at the install, its a fairly ease DIY. just as long as you know how to hook up an amp and radio. I reused the factory POS Becker and the rear speakers, they are power with the same 4 channel amp as the fronts, just with the gains on the amp turnes WAY down! I like front stage sound.

amp-993C2,
The model number is QM 332.02 CX - I purchased a set on ebay for $229 from the seller indoaudio@aol.com - You may want to email them to see if they have any more. I haven't done my install yet.
David,
Thanks for the pics!!! They really help.

David and Keith--
Thank you for your prompts replies! The speed of information delivery on Rennlist always amazes me. I’m in the decision making process on the front speakers. Last summer I’ve ripped out the old Alpine and replaced it with Becker CDR-220, which I really like, BTW. An A/D/S 4-ch amp went under the passenger seat. The last push over this summer is to replace the speaker set both front and rear. The goal is to keep the original hi-fi panel look and update the fronts first and then the rear speakers. So far I like David’s approach to mounting the front 3-way speakers and it is my leading choice. I’d like to fit the largest subwoofer/midrange in the available space and I believe it 8” / 4” / 1” combination for the 3-way set is optimal. I’ll scour the net for a set of MBQ QM 332.02 CX. Will any other brand 3-way set fit the above criteria?

You might consider "brown bread" or "dynamat" in the doors to sharpen up the bass.
Also, there is at least one company with a subwoofer assembly for the 993 cabin (I think one design goes in the passenger footwell as a corner-loaded box and the other design is a vented box in rear foot well behind the passenger seat. Both enclosures are nice because you can make the heavy sub and amp assemblies removable for track days!
