O2 sensor testing
I know it is possible to test whether an O2 is bad with a voltmeter. Can anyone with the 993 manuals see if they talk about this and what the specs are??? Thanks for the help

Are you getting any error codes on the OBD-II ?
The most accurate way to test your O2 sensor is test it while it is
connected and running in the vehicle. On my '97 C4S, the O2
sensor wires are color coded Black, Gray, White, White.
The white wires are the heater element to accelerate O2 sensor
operation during cold start up. The black wire is the active analog
signal and the gray wire is the O2 bias/ground source. It may be
difficult to measure using a multimeter as this voltage fluctuates from
near 0 to +0.8 volts. ( connecting to Black & Gray wires)
Although, a multimeter can give some indication of functionality.
A digital storage oscilloscope will provide accurate measurements.
It also permits measurement of the O2 rise/ fall time which should be
less than 100 ms.

Also if u have some of those OBD2 scan tools u can read the actual Voltage more cleanly, request for Mod1, PID14-1B to get info about the voltage for the O2 sensors.
