Wheel rubbing
Hi Guys
Need some help. My front right wheel has developed some rubbing sound when making big left turns recently. The sound is especially obvious when going backwards (sounds like a piece of plastic is blocking the wheel).
I thought it was fender rubbing but didnt see any part of the fender or other things rubbing the wheel.
I have 225/40/18 in front and the car has been lowered to RS height with the H&R Coilovers set-up + RS sway bar. Lowered the car almost 3 months ago but did have this problem until now.
Any idea?
TIA
Kai

What year car? Porsche recommended against 18" wheels on early 993s; as I remember, due to this reason.
Lowering will make it worse.
Like Chris sez, is likely rubbing of tire on inside plastic fender liner. Why it's doing it now and not before I don't know, unless car hs settled a bit with age and is lower now than just after the lowering job.

thanks Ray and Chris
I have a 96, so should have no problem on the 18 wheels.
havent taken the wheel out yet, going to do that when i have time this weekend.
however have tried to check the inside of the wheel for clearance with my hands when it make the noise when making big turns, seems ok. the thing that really puzzle me was that why is it happening now but not when I first install the coilovers.
Could this be something more serious other than fender rubbing? a bad bearing?
