there are a lot of threads on this if you type "RSR Motor Sound" into advanced search in title only. I have been looking at the same questions as you. The short answer: motorsound package could be ordered with the motorsound mufflers, air filter, and tips. OR could be ordered just airfilter and tips with normal muffler. There is a difference between the motorsound muffler and standard muffler. For either muffler, you send your current one to Robin/Carnewal/etc, and they will send you back a RSR'd version and keep your old one. The RSR'd version can be done to the standard or upgraded motorsound muffler, and supposedly the only visibly detectable difference is at the weld points.

Many say that the RSR set up is only marginally "better" than the motorsound full package with upgraded mufflers. Many sugges that if you already have this full motorsound package, that you stay with what you have and only do RSR if you have the standard muffler now. Others disagree, etc....

Awesome, thank you very much. That was the kind of answer I was looking for.

garychios,
I had the "full" MS package including the MS mufflers. I decided to buy the RSR to try it out with my MS package. The sound was a better during idle and lower rpm but overall not much difference. Then I decided to drill the rest of the holes on my MS airbox cover as a lot of people suggested. Now, it sounds awesome!!

It's the drilled airbox that makes the beautiful sounds inside the car!

Just a quick comment for MrSullivan: the intensity of your recent car search seems to have quickly turned you into a very useful resource for this board! Hope you're enjoying that beautiful new (to you) car.

Does anyone know definitively what the code is for the MS package that includes the mufflers as well?
