Need advise on Power Seat Failure
Very suddenly, the rear vertical adjustment on my 8-way power seat has ceased to function. It's now stuck close to the lowest position, or perhaps it may be at the lowest point. Here are the symptoms:
1. No reaction if I try to move it down.
2. Slight "click" if I try to move it up, same sound made if one was to push the button in the desired direction, when the seat has already reached its limit.
My novice assessment leads me to believe that it's mechanical rather than electrical. Could a coin or other small object be lodged in an area invisible to regular lines of sight? Or worse, a gear or motor component failure?
I'd like to give a shot at fixing this myself, since it's a passenger seat, and no one seems to want to ride with me anyway
TIA.
