Post Difference in Heat Exchangers?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone had any info, in the different types of heat exchangers flanges, coming off the manifold bolting on to the head? Someone told me that some models had a oval flange and some had more of a round circular flange? If anyone can give me any info, I'd gladly appreciate their time and info thanks!

chris

P.S. I did a search and couldn't find anything, thanks!

The early production 993s (1994- midway 1996) and all factory SUPERCUP 3.8Liter racecars have flat oval outlet flanges and the design is called Bischoff. The headers were excatly the same BUt the Supercup car was just a naked header without the heater ducting.

The later model 993s had a round 3 bolt collector and was called a Gillet design.

The flanges that connect to the cylinder heads and other parts were the same. I hope this helps.
Have a great day
