New pads overlap lip on rotor. Is this a problem?
I just installed new Mintex pads and noticed that the pad just barely overlaps the lip on my rotors. My rotors are a little worn and have about a 1/16" lip around the outside edge. Anyone have experience with this? I am worried that I'll be putting all the pad pressure on that lip rather than fully on the rotor. Will the lip warp and get pushed out? Will the pad grind it down or will the lip form a goove in the pad? I have a DE event tomorrow and don't want to have any problems on the track. Thanks!

Ideally, with such a lip the rotor edges should have been ground down. What will happen now most likely is that the pads will be cut by the rotor until the entire pad is flush with the rotor.
Hve you driven the car? I would bet the brakes feel very spongy. Try to bed them in on drive to the track, and drive EXTREMELY CAUTIOUSLY for your first few sessions.

I just put 60 miles on the pads and pulled them. Looks like the pads are not that much larger than the rotor and the rotor edge shaved off the corner of the pad. I"ll take Cecil's advice and file down the rest of the edge. I am set to go tomorrow!!Thanks guys!
