You are absolutely right!
I now get up extra early so I can stop somewhere and sit and drink my cup of coffee while reading the news. Much safer and then there is no chance I will spill unless I am just plain clumsy.

This reminded me of the movie "Bad Boys" (Will Smith and Martin Lawrence).
Will Smith was driving a 930 Turbo (I think) in that movie and Martin Lawrence was upset that a $80k car does not have a cupholder
Martin, your Soup **** reply is hillarious hehehe...

Congrats on not drawing too much abuse on you post. I asked the same question a few years ago and was nearly shamed off Rennlist forever. The solution I found -- actually offered to me by another brave, cafenated Rennlister -- was at www.drinkholders.com . I suggest the single $40.00 fold down cup holder installed on the passenger side of the center console. (There is a picture of this installation on the their website) It has worked great for me; it is unobtrusive when closed and it matches the interior. When open, it is easy to reach and out of the driver's way. I tried the double cup version that installs in the center console tray behind the parking brake - I sent it back because my elbow was hitting it even without a cup in it and it was awkward to reach. Good luck.

Suwipin,
Remember Will Smith correcting Martin Lawrence that it is a $100k car, not a $80K. He. .he. .

That was great looking car & the scene was nice!

Closed down one major Causeway b/ween Miami & Miami Beach for 4 days, then blew up few cars on top of the pridge!

I used sheet metal screws. The insulation in that area is very thick, too. The cupholder has held up beautifully. I can drive as hard as I want to, and leaks are limited to the integrity of the seal on the lid of the cup (which are usually flawless). I have not been able to tip over a cup yet, braking or cornering. I did have a few bad spills, though, when I forgot to close the drink opening for my coffee. The only cup that has't fit (besides mugs, of course) is the King Size drink from Mickey D's. The diameter is just a little too large.
By the way, I DO NOT drink any fluids while I'm driving. I especially don't put straws in the lids. The cupholder is merely for safe and spill-free transportation, and is used most to hold soda when driving home with a take-out order. It's especially nice when I have two drinks to transport.
