I definitely remember Yellow Bird (even though I was only 8 years old in '87). I remember right around that time I thought the only three cars that existed were the Porsche 911, Lamborghini Countach, and the Ferrari Testarossa.
Funny thing is that I was just reading about Yellow Bird last night as I sat around the house flipping through the 'The Porsche 911 Story'. I love how much that thing's rear-end squats down under acceleration. Very sweet.

I worked at Beverly Hills Motoring in the 80s and early 90s and we were one of the first RUF distributors of parts and cars. Alois Ruf visited on several occasions, truly a great guy with a very focused passion. I got to drive the Yellow Bird, but in Beverly Hills there's not too many open places to appreciate what the Bird is all about!
BTW.... The complete RUF Video is available at www.makebigdaddyrich.com
No affiliation etc.

I was lucky enough to have a ride in a green ruf ctr...absolutely awesome speed and turbo/wastegate flutter...The film (which I watch, to remind me that I actually can't drive) is a little disjointed as I believe it is not two complete laps, rather a collection of shots. One of the problems they had was blow outs as the tyres wore right thro'....apparantly...
