Post Differences in oil filters

Does anybody know the differences in the following engine ( small ) oil filters:

993.107.203.00
993.107.203.02
993.107.203.03

There was a TSB out about 1996 TT cars smoking becuase they had the wrong filter installed. The part number ending in 00 is not supposed to be used for TT cars.

This gets me to wondering if my smoking problem is related to the part ending 03 filter that I'm using right now. I might go try to find a 02 filter and try changing that just for the heck of it.

Thanks..

Jeff

Wink

Far as I know, the higher the last no, the newer the design. And in this case, the newer the better.

My intuition, tho.

OIl burning/smoking might be due to bad seals in the turbocharger bearings. Common generic problem in all turbo cars.

Yeah, that's what I thought to, but since the turbos were replaced ( under warranty ), it most likely rules out that issue.

I'll keep looking.
