Hey Steve,
Good seeing you again. Sorry I missed OG, and would have loved to join you two for the drive....had to get back home for kid-duty. Yeah, the 997 I thought was pretty cool, and a definite aesthetic improvement over the 996! I truly hope the build quality is an improvement, as well.

I'm not that fat either, I just forgot to hold my stomach in ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
According to a salesman, the silver one will be available to demo next week. The "market adjustment" on the S was $4,875. I wonder how they came up with that number?
The interior is very comfortable, seats feel great and lots of leg room. I was expecting more of the 993 coke bottle hips. I was underwhelmed by the added curves of the 997. Much improved over the 996 but nothing close to the lines of the 993. I also find the rear too humpy. The other thread that compares the lines of the two really makes this point well. I think if I was going to spend $100K for a water cooled Porsche, I'd buy a 996 turbo or GT3 before a 997S.
Great seeing everyone and putting names to faces. We Rennlisters really are a nich bunch of folks!

Wow, same combo today at Premier in Albuquerque. I too was not impressed with anything except the sport seats in the S. It was sold and not available for sitting in - I had no interest in checking out the non S - I'm glad though cause it makes my 993's seem much more attractive. I'm planning on a RUF in 08

I was kinda tempted and I really like what I saw until I walked back out ans saw mine. I was happy where I was.
It was Great meeting Fred and his wife and there was a wind at our backs blowing up our shirts inflating the frontal area! and it was great seeing Scott again. I want to thnk Steve for taking the time to take me on a drive it was fun!- even with 5 hours in my TT yesterday.
I want to echo Freds comments about the 997. It was nice but not nice enough.

Scott,
Good eyeball.. yes the Sherwood Country Club. Awesome grounds up there. I took oldguy out for a quick, easy tour of the beautiful countryside and fun roads.

the 997s look good and I am sure they perform superbly but I agree with the others on this thread - your tt's look awesome. No way would I switch from the tt to the 997 (now a future 997 tt might be another story
)
