Thinking about purchasing these. Anybody have any experiance with them, looking for input on what else need to be done before or after install. I understand that they are just bolt on and go the car will learn to deal with increased exhaust folw. Any feed back would be greatly appreaciated.
I love mine, although there isn't any noticable improvement in perfomance. At least you'll sound like your going faster! While they are a simple install, the only thing you have to futz with lining up the tips. My wife helped me eyeball the tips so that they were even, while I tightened them down.
I just ordered and received fabspeed maxflo by ordering through Vantage International (they have a web site). The total cost was $900.00. Very good service. I'm very happy with the mufflers and don't notice resonance as others have mentioned.
I'm a shade tree mechanic and was able to install both in less than 2 hours. The first took longer than the second and if I do it again, I'd probably finish in less than an hour..
I also got instructions on changing mufflers from P-cars.com which were excellent.
I have posted on this subject before and once again I have to say "where is the resonance everybody talks about with these?" I have had mine for about 9 months and love the sound. If that rumble is considered resonance by more discerning ears than mine, then that would explain my fondness for Irish stout over fine French wine . As I have pretty unsophisticated sensibilities, I like setting off those ridiculous aftermarket alarms in the "2 fast 2 furious" cars in store parking lots. I only wish the RSRs were a little throatier because Robin is a great guy and does real quality work.
Another vote for the MaxFlows. I've had mine for a little over a year and love them. Very easy to install. The tips are like a work of art. I had considered getting the mufflers without Fabspeed's tips because the old ones will fit. DO NOT DO THAT! It would have been a huge mistake. The tips are a different length so the factory ones would be buried somewhere under the car. Instead you can have their tips and they really look great.
His site is a riot and taps into a seething annoyance. I think he's onto something, yes?
Now that site is funny! I am going to keep the stickers in my car and hold them up when I see the appropriate cell phone/lane swerve technique so common around here
