In attempting to upload a photo to post on this board, it seems my file photos exceed the maximum capacity for the Rennlist Upload. What can i do to post my pics that are already in my file?
In the future, do i need to decrease the resolution on my digital camera so the maximum KB limit is not exceeded?
Thanks
Mike

Most photo packages (ie photoshop, Paint shop Pro etc) have an image resize capability. You should reset images that you want to post on the web to about 800 x 600 (ish). This will give you picture quality acceptable for viewing (printing is another matter!!)

A good freeware image viewer that includes the ability to resize/resample images and copes with most image formats is Irfan View, available at <a href="http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm" target="_blank">Irfan View English Web Page</a>

I put up something that helps with this problem for rennlisters.
<a href="http://www.piels.com/compressimage.html" target="_blank">http://www.piels.com/compressimage.html</a>
It will let you downsize it, and it will try to optimize the size. Sometimes it works great, sometimes it doesn't. Give it a shot.

Just to clarify, my script reduces the image, but you should right click on the image, save it to your computer, then upload it to rennlist.
I delete the generated images after a short time. My machine definitely can't be a host for images. Enough crap going over my wire as it is!

Here is an excellent freeware program site:
<a href="http://www.mihov.com/eng/" target="_blank">http://www.mihov.com/eng/</a>
Mihov's Image Resizer is much faster and easier to use than Adobe Photoshop.
