GT9111,

I'm defenately thinking, I think I'll call to MAShaw or Betterbodiesmotorsport and ask if they're willing to do so. IMO though, with RS wings, it would be nice too. But with ducktail, there's that "classical, recognizing Porsche's history, 1973 RS" kinda thing (nice description...) which would be nice.

Kim,

You know, they make those stickers in different colors, that would be what? 10 sets total that you'd 'need'too?

Bins,

I like it, like I said, ducktail would be kind of 'old school', which I think would not be as 'boy racer' as i.e. RSR wing.
I do like RSR wing too, basically, anything that Porsche has offered to their street models is ok and is not 'boy racer', maybe that makes me a boy racer?

But since these are matter of opinions, I think all opinions are appreciated.

Thumbs up

SWEET!!!! <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" /> I give it the Vegemite thumbs up. If only I hadn't done the Supercup look already, that would have definitely been an option. Now Dude, where's my car?

Dylan.
A three vegemite jar award....

Peanut,
you can still do the "duck tail" Heck I know someone who might be willing to buy your wing, and front spliters!!!

Do you really think my nugget can sustain more blows from the wife? What are you crazy!!! <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

I'd be tempted but this stuff has only been on for 2-3 months, it's a bit much now. Although, maybe a fglass spare lid to swap in an out. Hmmm, now what would the deal be on a group purchase?

Cheers,
Dylan.

Phil,
I'd probably keep the Supercup wing for the track, the extra down force. BUT, if others are interested, I'm happy to call Mike at M.A.Shaw and as how much to make up some Duck Tail on 993 lids? It's $450 for the current duck tail and integrated lid that he has. I'll call....

993 in '73 RS livery: it'd be a cool trick for a car show or weekend caravan. As a permanent modification, it denigrates both models.

Dylan,

I've already sent an e-mail to them...

Mark,

Good thing about this change would be that it's only stickers (even though if long enough in sunshine, you'll end up with paint difference) and whole decklid which is simple swap to put back in stock. And front of stock 993 (not turbo) IMO, needs something to be really beautiful. RS splitter is a defenately a upgrade and if you use factory parts, you don't do any harm in that respect either.

Ok, the wing looks nice, but the stripes? I strongly feel everyone should do what they want, but why mess up the beautiful unspoiled lines of the car?

Pretty soon we'll be back to fuzzy dice and those goofy seat belt shoulder covers. Why not go big and get the neon under the car for that glowing rice rocket effect?

Again, do what you want, but you did ask for an opinion. Stickers are for cars from the other side of the planet and kids who mistake "quick" for "performance". <img src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" border="0" alt="[soapbox]" /> <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

So that was you FF that beat me with the email to Mike? <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

O.k. the word is, it can be done, they would make them, but potential buyers would have to step up to the plate. That means a little money down (deposit) and possibly a show of hands on who/how many would be interested?

Now I'm just relaying information here, but the projected cost would be $650, fitting the duck tail to a 993 shape lid. It was not finalized as to use of a stock 993 grill or the earlier model grill? Personally, if I didn't have to buy another grill, that would lower the cost and make it more desirable. My suggestion on the input to this (new tail) would be incorporate the 993 grill.

So, a tentative show of hands would be good. Show your interest as one member already did with a personal message.

Cheers,
Dylan. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

p.s. The reasoning behind the slightly inflated price over the original duck tail in their inventory is that they need to make a mold (or is that mould) and there is a cost associated with that. Thus the need to sell at least a few to cover costs, let alone profits in the future (I'm assuming that last bit).

Dylan.

I for one like the ducktail spoiler look. Not so sure about the Carrera Stripes though...

FF, I just saw your msg.

I meant the stripes.
The duck tail actually looks okay. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
