I notice when I wash my car each week that the right front wheel will show a little brake fluid(?) between two of the spokes. Is this common? I'm taking the car in for service next week and would like to know what to have them look into.
Thanks,
Bill

If it truly IS brake fluid (P.S. - how do you know???) it is NOT normal and could be darn dangerous! Brake system should be totally dry.
How do brakes feel? If you do have a leak, pedal would probably feel spongy. Is the fluid level in the reservoir down?
In any case, if you REALLY feel it's fluid, take it danged easy driving to the shop.
Possible causes: slight leak at bleed screw, maybe a leak at a brake line connnection. Just tell them what you told us and have THEM trouble-shoot.

Thank you for expanding upon my question, Ray. I don't know that it is brake fluid, just that a small amount of "something" is ending up on that one (right front) wheel at the end of the week. Not a lot mind you, but enough to notice when cleaning the wheel. I'll heed your advice and have it checked out (the brakes feel fine, btw).

Bill

Bill:
If it's brake fluid, it should be causing some discoloration to the wheel's finish-- brake fluid is quite harmful to painted surfaces. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
