You did indeed pull the pressure relief valve, it sounds like. I'd not drive or start it until you repull it, and make sure it is installed correctly. That may be why you have a light on. If you are sure you got 10 qts in, I can't see how it wouldn't show on the stick. If you didn't get the oil in correctly, that is another reason the light can be on.

And lots of patience because the small oil filter is a PITA.

It seems you didn't use the drain plug, but the pressure assembly to drain. You said the oil light came on, yet you have 10qts in. Something isn't right. Seems like I'd be concerned that I got the pressure components correct. To do that, you need to again pull that assembly.

Ok im gonna repull the drain plug , you may be right about the pressure assembly drain, i assumed it was the drain plug because it was near the oil filter , i put components in the same order they came out , so where is the drain plug exactly ?

LH side of case center-it faces horizontally, not straight down. You need to remove the heater ducts to really get a drain that isn't a mess, and to access the small filter on the RH side. You changed two filters, right?

Yes thank you - it was the oil release valve that I took out. I am now missing the spring and the cylindrical component. I amg ooing to look through the old oil to find these components, if not I need to go to a Porsche dealer and buy the spring and the cylindrical component. Thank you so much for your help.

Glad You got it sorted. Keep an eye on eBay, they pop up from time to time for less. Also, Bentley is coming out with a manual some time soon. It should be great.

Do a search. Many of us remove the oil relief valve by mistake once in our DIY careers.
