OT: Checkered Flag...
Sorry,I am posting this question here, but not so sure you guys like at the "General Forum" much (I don't...).
Anybody have an idea when the checkered flag was first used in racing and who thought it up? Someone told me that during a motorcyle race around a hunderd years ago,the officials got bored and were playing chess, when the winner suddenly turned up, and one of the officials just waved the board... Sounds flakey to me...
