There are actually 993 owners here that think one can buy a 993 for $19k????!!!! Matt is right about comparing to a Carrera or SC. Come to think of it... I've never seen a 993 advertised for less than $28k. I'm sure they're out there though... and please, no eBay links are necessary. We all know they mean nothing.

In my opinion, a 145K mile car is never going to be worth the sum of its purchase price plus the cost of repairs. A bargain is no longer a bargain once you have dropped $10K into it, in the first 6 months of ownership.

Clean title, 112K miles at the time (January of this year), '95 Cab. Needs a roof, but that is a periodic maintanance item on a cab.

i checked out mike's car as it was local to me. Car was in good shape with some minor mechanical problems & needed a roof. He got an outstanding price from someone who just didn't know how to sell a car and bought it during the .com days. old owner was not a pcar enthusiast and just drove the car.

cheers,
boris

That about sums it up Plus I had no idea about 993s or P-cars and bought it because it was cheap enough market-wise.
However, seek and yee shall find. I personally would not pay $25K for a 145K mile car, I would much rather pay $30K for a 60K mile car. And those are definitely out there.

Mike is right.
I wouldn't pay $25k for a 145K mile car even though it's probably worth it marketwise.
I paid $28k for mine (76K miles) a little over a year ago...Which at the time was a smoking deal.
But it has cost me some $$$ to sort out a few issues (and my steering rack is still dripping..) and in retrospect, I would have been better off buying a $32-$34K car minus the issues and not to mention the peripheral costs (like Tylenol, sleepless nights etc..). If you're not careful, you can EASILY spend $4,000-5,000 on a 993 before you've even indulged in your first mod.

You really do get what you pay for, and it really helps to be honest with yourself and put emotion aside when looking at these cars from a purchasing standpoint.

Other than that...These cars are great!!

In Statistics your car would be known as an outlier. I am sure that there is also someone that paid significantly more for their 993, because they did not know the market value, i.e. someone that bought a car from a dealer.

I wish I had your luck. You got one hell of a deal on that car.
