I ran a sinkful of very hot water in the bathroom off the garage, and dropped the four liters of Mobil 1 into it before I started work on draining the old oil. By the time I'd given the old (fully warmed up) oil time to drain & tightened up the drain bolt, the new oil was nicely warmed up & flowed into the transmission nicely.
If you're not already familiar w. this, the new oil is pretty thick, and the space it flows into is pretty tight. So you have to be really patient when adding the oil. If you aren't, you can think you've added enough because the fill hole starts overflowing - because you haven't given the thick, cold oil a chance to distribute itself inside the tranny case.

Whoa, I *am* honored!
I thought of two ways to warm the oil: one was a microwave, and the other was a hot bath. I have NO idea what microwaves might do to the long polymers in synthetic oil...

Although you won't be AS honored receiving a "goot tip" from myself,
- this is a good tip. It will be better appreciated by those who have needed to excersise patience when changing the gearbox oil in the past.
Thanks again!
