Post Tachometer Dimmed By Moisture

There was kinda cool weather for this time of the year here at SF bay area. With open windows and roof I turned the heater on. After a while I noticed that there was a moisture condensate on the back side of the tachometer gauge glass. Is it normal? Did anyone notice the same thing on their cars?

Sure did. A good day's drive North I had the same experience in Vancouver. Five minutes after the heater kicked in the humidity improved and the mist disappeared. Is life just like that?

I must admit I was very concerned the first time my tach fogged. Sputnik has described the experience very well.

Yes - This happens to my car occasionally in the winter, heater clears it pretty quickly though.

On an earlier post, someone suggested drilling a hole or two in the gauge to minimize temperature/humidity differences with cabin air.
Sounded too drastic for me.
