Came across this preowned Fortis Porsche Pirelli Supercup watch this morning, thought it might be of interest to someone ...no affiliation, etc.

Fortis makes quite good watches, indeed.
The team Kadach watches pop up on ebay from time to time in the ~$750 range, fwiw.
Yeah, Mark, too bad about that 996 on the dial!
cheers!

FWIW, that is NOT an official Porsche watch. It is just another run of the mill Fortis Spacematic with a "Team KADACH" stamp on the back. Kadach must have bought 300 of these and stamped them. Official Porsche watches are made by Eterna which is now owned by the Porsche Design company.

FWIW, this is one of my all time favorite watches. Not the most expensive or fanciest, but definetely the coolest. The face is a replica of the speedometer on my 84. It's a nice very thin Swiss watch made by a company called Motochron. This one is no longer available, as they make limited runs with different faces. I usually check their website once a year ar so and see what they have. last time I checked, they had some M-B and vintage airplane stuff.

Viken's right.
In fact, Fortis will make "special" editions of the Spacematic for just about anything. (Anyone up for a 993 edition?
)
The Spacematic chronos are quite good watches as they are equipped with a version of the Valjoux 7750 (a very good movement for the $, imho) and is one of the cheaper watches so equipped.
Yes, the Porsche DESIGN watches are made by Porsche's own brand Eterna and, while quite good, are a far cry from the old IWC / Porsche Design pairing. (again, imho)
Man, I gotta get a life...
Cheers!

My IWC Fliegerchronograph has the Valjoux movement, and it is a very hardy and reliable...I've accidently dropped it several times on hard flooring and it hasn't missed a beat.

I've had this watch since 1976. A true original Orfina Porsche watch. Unfortunately,I never wear a watch now. I have clocks everywhere from my cell phone to car clock to a digital clock beaming in every room of the house. Who needs a watch anymore?
check out the price on this vintage ad. Not bad.
