Default BUMP STEER KIT QUESTION ?

Have recently noticed that BUMP-STEER MODIFICATION KIT is available from Gert for 993. Although I was aware of this mod for earlier 911's with lowered ride heights, I was not aware of its use or possible need on 993.

Would appreciate as always any info? Experiences?
Anbody out there using this from Gert?

I install these all the time on my customers lowered cars. I also have it on my own car. If you are running a much lowered car, then the factory pieces can really help with bump steer.

Ahhh the days of a simple washer kit to raise the steering rack on a lowered 911. Well, we are not in Kansas anymore. The geometry of the 993 is so far from the earlier 911s it is unreal.

I can confirm what ViperBob says. 993 bump steer at lower ride height is huge! I was really shocked (no pun) to see that much toe change with relatively little bump motion, while on an alignment rack.

Surprised to see this in a Porsche product. The next question that comes to mind is how the Cayenne maintains toe with its air suspension ride height range?

Hi:

Indeed, bump steer can be a big issue for all 993's that have been lowered 1.4" or more.

The EVO uprights and RS (or GT-2) tie rods are OK, but they are non-adjustable and have no provisions for adjusting & precisely setting bump steer at each individual car's ride height.

I prefer the special ERP 993 tie rods, used in conjunction with the EVO uprights to set the tie rods in the proper position, and allow one to adjust the bump steer on each side, independently.

You can see these at http://www.rennsportsystems.com/993.html

The bump steer kit is definitely worth it if your car has been significantly dropped.
