Question 993TT OEM Wing?

I have a used 993TT wing that came with my car when I bought it but I never mounted it to the car. How can I tell whether it is an OEM wing? I cannot find a Porsche part number on it. The top grille (white - unpainted) is new and it has a Porsche part number. If I sold the wing, what would it be worth? Thanks for your help!

First test - the stock TT wing is a one-piece tail/decklid...if your tail bolts onto an existing lid then it's aftermarket.

AFAIK, all aftermarket TT tails required you to buy a genuine Porsche TT grill. Depending on condition I would guess that it would be worth 40-60% of a new piece if was painted, and 70-80% if it was unpainted....caveat being that if it was painted the proper color for the buyer you might get 90-100% of the price of new.

btw to post pics you need to upload it to the Rennlist server first, then copy/past the location of the pic into your post.

Thanks David. The wing is a one-piece tail/decklid alledgedly coming from a crashed 993TT (it's pretty scratched up and needs prep and paint). I am concerned that there is no Porsche part number to be found anywhere on it.

If I could figure out how to post the picture it would be easier to see. (I did upload the picure to the server and pasted it to the post to no avail - I'll keep trying).

There are no part number on the factory twin turbo tail, at least when I looked really hard I couldn't find any.

The original factory tail piece the surface area above the hinge is flat and vertical, and where as most aftermarket turbo tails have a big opening.

An original factory tail with perfect inner and outter grill and all the proper mounting piece can easily sell for $2500 regardless of color.

Below picture will show the flat vertical panel I am referring to.

There is a number if you look under the rubber strip next to or right around the latch. Mine says 993 512 413 00 - Pet says 993 512 511 00.

Robin, how does this "flat area" look to you? Looks like there is a bump on my wing that's not on yours. Since it is most likely not OEM how much do you think I could sell it for?

That area looks the same to me. If you look closely at Robins pic you notice the shadows cast by a similar bump in the same location. Its just harder to see from that angle and the color being red.

Yes, there is a retangular bump right above the hinge.

I did manage to find the part number under the rubber seal right in the center area near the latch.

Here is a link to more picture of the factory turbo tail
