Yes it is flush when up if the Porsche OE one-sorry about the pictures but the last time it took me 2 hours to configure the pics for Rennlist-not my forte-hopefully Mike will post some. It is best to install with the top down. The brackets are right behind (and lower than) the windows. Once you get the first one in the bolt hole lines up and it is farirly easy to see what happens. Install the other, zip the flap (I don't know the technical term) to the lower rear top flap and your done. The first time you raise it is, of course, a leap of faith.

It really is visually self explanatory once you place the first bracket in and everything lines up. I had the same problem of not being able to visualize it-that and trying with the top up at first (DUH) - before putting the top down and doing the install.

I have a windstop - I keep it in the trunk - IMHO the cab looks much better without it, and I don't think it makes much difference to the air movement.

If you've bought a cab, you likely want the wind in your hair. So, why the need for a windstop?

While I realize this isn't suitable advice for female cab owners, a #2 clipper attachment and a DIY haircut worked for me!

Simon,

That seems like a terrible waste of valuable and limited trunk room I like both the look of the cab with the windblock on and the fact that it is much easier to keep my hat from blowing away from the air that wraps around from behind. Those hats are expensive-and I like my hair the way is too, so cutting my own real short isn't in the cards. But, to each his or her own.

Howard-

Thanks for the picture. The whole picture = 1,000 words was very true in this case. Once I had something to look at, it took me 5 minutes to install.

Rennlist is incredible! The only bad part is it's raining now....

pedro, glad you got it installed. I just came back from an autocross and have another tomorrow, so I didn't have a chance to snap a pic, sorry.
One trick you should know - when the roof is up, you can unzip the zipper and route the cloth flap below the windscreen and zip it back up. That way it will not be riding on top of your hair.

To others - windscreen in a 993 cab is a very valuable thing. I have another cabrio and took windscreen out. But in 993 it helps a lot if you drive long distances with roof down. I've done 500+ miles hikes in a day that way. I also had a speedo needle at 160. Trust me, windscreen helps.

Pedro -

Glad to be of help, Max911 sent those to me when I was scratching my head.

Everything is easy once you've seen it or done it yourself.

Best wishes to all the folks in FL cleaning up from the hurricane.
