(BTW, The Euro forum is all but dead that's why I post this here.)

Is Sportec a respected name in Porsche circles? How do they compare to the big boys? What are they known for?

The guys in Swizterland are very knowledgeable and great people. I think they prepared a GT1 Le Mans car, I know they have Gunther Mandle working for them, and a veteran Ruf technician also. Their products have a top notch quality build. The car in my avatar is theirs.

Just want to share my experience that i had with Gunther mandl. When i was living in europe i sent by courrier my ecu for reprogramming to TTP in germany.TTP(turbo teknic pietz) did modifications for Porsches and is know in europe. However i spent 2000dm for my ecu and did not see any difference. Gunther mandl did the work. I confronted the "boss" who was Pietz and he blamed Gunther .Spoke to Gunther and he complained about the "boss". They never answered my calls which were many...... and also long distance!!! I had a verry hard time reaching them and they basically ignored me. Gunther "promissed" that when he would be in my town because he did some programing on the side he would call me and reprogram the ecu, this time while in the car. Never happenned!! I never got my money back and never saw a difference in the ecu. although Gunther sounds nice i was dissapointed at his proffessionalism.Just thought i would share this story with u.

Seems to me like your problem is with TTP or Gunther as a freelancer. This is about Sportec, which management is extremely professional and Gunther as their employee, whose technical skills are way up there.

No affiliation whatsoever with them.

Because Gunther s name was mentioned i thought i should share my story. Because it is verry unplesant to pay so much after you have heard so much about a specialist concerning remapping of ECU's, to receive nothing in return.I have nothing against sportec, i have personally seen some of their work ( although not the best for Porsches) i was just reffering to my dissapointment with Gunther because i was surprised someone mentioned him.Thats all.

I fully understand, and sharing your experience is what the board is all about, so no issues at all. If I were you, I would call him where he is now.

Best,
Jean
