Anyone have a good source for one?....not to replace a good torque wrench but rather to speed lugs off/on at DEs and whenever....I'm thinking rechargable and adjustable (with use on good nuts you don't want to beat up)...thanks in advance for suggestions.

Gregg,
I have one made by Craftsman (Sears), it is a 110V plug in type, it is not as strong as the air impact gun, but if you run it long enough it will loosen lug nuts that was tighten at over 150ft lb. (Idoit tire shop people did this recently to my lug nuts, told me their torque wrench was broken)
I purchased mine used from Ebay at half of the retail cost.

I've got a Snap On rechargable impact wrench. It only does about 50 lb ft, max torque, so you'll still need a breaker bar to remove the nuts.
It was about $200 from the local Snap On guy. You can order stuff from Snap On online, call to get the number of your local guy, or just drive around looking for the truck.

I have something similar but from Milwaukee. Ordered it at Sears. 3/8 drive, torques to around 50-60lb/ft
There are more expensive ones that will remove torqued lug nuts but expect to pay $400 or so.

Here's a hint to save a few bucks:
1. Lossen you bolts / lug nuts with either a breaker bar or you torque wrench set a higher setting than the tightening toruque.
2. Zip the bolts / lug nuts off with an adapter driven by a rechargeable drill.
The drill adapter to 3/8 or 1/2 inch drive is only a few bucks.

Depends how much you wnat to spend. I heard Dewalt just came out with an 18Vdc cordless one that goes up to 150lbs. Here is the page with the current offerings. Watch the video on that page - very cool.
I have used this 9.6Vdc Makita cordless one for quite a while. Not nearly enough strength to remove or tighten, but once the lugs are broken, it works like a charm. Total of 50 ft. lbs.
You might want to look at this Mac Daddy Makita 24Vdc with 147 ft. lbs of power. If I had to do it again, it would be nice to use a torque stick and one of these to never have to break the lugs loose first or to use the torque wrench all the time.

Good luck. If you meant a cheap one, I am sorry, as none of these are cheap.

I can truly help here. I obtained a portable Impact Wrench from Dave Turner Motorsports in San Diego, CA. It comes with two (2) 2.0Ah 19.2 V NiCad batteries, the Impact Wrench, a re-charger and a carrying case. It cranks out up to 200 Ft Lbs of torque, hard to believe. While at the track a while back, a friend with a 944 had a frozen lug nut. He tried a breaker bar, etc, to spin it off, no luck. I applied my Impact Wrench and off it came.
I have changed a set of track wheels to street wheels, in 20 minutes, by my self. Try that with a breaker bar and whatever. Also, when spinning the lug nuts back on, I use a 80 Lb. torque stick. At the completion of the job, I torque the lug nuts to the 94 Ft. Lb. factory spec.
Dave Turner Motorsports 858 268 2244 Note: I am not compensated for this endorsement nor do I have any financial interest here. Tell Dave I sent you...I want him to see the power of Rennlist, and maybe become a sponsor!
You will have to call Dave directly for the brand name and price. Once I had this Impact Wrench, I sold my Makita..it was worthless compared to this baby!!!

Harbor Freight has a Milwaukee Cordless Impact Wrench.
14.4V 3/8" Impact
1000 in-lbs = 83 ft-lbs.

DO NOT BUY THIS ONE FROM HARBOR FREIGHT:
Chicago Electric 19.2V Corless Impact Wrench
The piece of junk broke the very first time I used it. It is supposedly rated at 220 ft. lbs., my lug nuts were torqued to 130 ft. lbs., it failed to loosen about 7 nuts, then loosened one nut, then broke about 2 nuts later.
