95 993 Coupe
How is $26000 for a 95 993 with 26k mileage. Check this one out at carshowing.com and let me know what you think. 2nd owner. Harness replaced. Havent checked yet on valves. Does anyone know of a mobile ppo out of San Francisco that will check this out for me. TIA

I only see a 95 with 118k miles for $26k, which seems high to me for this high mileage. IMO a CA 95 with 26k miles that is clean would be listed for over $35k. Truspeed has a clean 95 with 26k that they were asking $37.5k for. If I am wrong and there is one at this price that is clean, jump all over it.

Not sure if this relevant or not. I just negotiated a 95 with 9K mile for $35.5K (asking was $38K), of course this is contingent on a successful full PPI including leak down that will be performed tomorrow. It is a late model 95, 6 speed, polar silver 2 owners, the second owner is best friends with the first. There is really nothing special about the car i.e., no LSD, CD, 18” wheels, suspension upgrades and etc.. The only thing that is special is the low miles. I think it was a fair price, but what do I know.
Wish me luck on the PPI, if it goes well I am flying down to LA Friday to drive it up.

PS that one on truespeed looks like a nice one.

My bad on the mileage. It is 118k. What is a good deal on this car? It is currently at $26k. Assuming the leak down checked out ok, is $22k a steal?
The wiring harness recall was done earlier. What else should I be concerned about with this vehicle.

Offered only as a point of reference...
I purchased my '95 993 coupe with 67k miles for $25.5k. Car was factory equipped with 17" cups, LSD/ABD, Hi-Fi sound, cruise, etc. Motorsound airbox and exhaust tips were added aftermarket. (I've since done a few things)
Sporadic service history, but car was clearly well cared for. 60k service and PPI performed at the dealer - everything checked out perfectly well. Car is a 9.5/10 mechanically and probably a 8.5/10 aesthetically (some seat wear and repainted bumpers). I am very pleased with my purchase and I looked for quite a while. Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Todd-
I agree with you, I'm pleased with my purchase.
However, I find that people often shy away from cars without PERFECT histories or with ANY paintwork. I share their desires, but I was looking for a solid driver and was willing to do some detective work on my own dime and was willing to squint when looking at the bumper covers. There are deals out there if you look at as many cars as you can and, most importantly, are patient.
On a side note... (not to hijack the thread)
Todd- My sister is considering a Saab Linear, how do you like yours?
Cheers!
