Default Rear wiper plastic 'cover'- correct position?

Maybe a silly question but I want to be confident I am putting things back together correctly. I was reinstalling my rear parcel shelf and noticed the rear wiper plastic 'cover' that the shelf slides into was below the rubber seal along the inside of the rear window. You can see from the mark on the wiper shaft that it has been sitting lower for some time but possible it fell out of position when the shelf was removed in the past and was simply never reinstalled correctly. The top lip of the cover is longer with a small notch which leads me to believe it is supposed to rest above the rubber seal but wanted to see if anyone else can confirm this? If so it doesn't want to go easily but could probably be coaxed into place with some silicone grease.

Think I answered my own question- I futzed with it for a while and there is simply no way to coax that piece above the rubber as shown (picture is misleading as the piece is at an angle).

Good question! On my car the upper lip of the rear wiper cover, into which the rear shelf slides, sits above the window rubber seal. When the shelf is in place, the wiper cover appears to lift the edge of the shelf higher than on the rest of the shelf along the lover window edge. This leads me to believe that the upper lip of the cover is supposed to sit below the rubber window seal. Do you have a photo of how your rear shelf looks in place?

Here you go. I hadn't bothered looking closely enough at other cars in person before encountering this question, but have looked at a number of pictures (e.g. Bring A Trailer) and the rubber seal and things that look like zip ties are pretty much always visible above the shelf, so I'm pretty sure that is the way to go if you can move the rear wiper cover below the seal without breaking it.

Thank you! Your shelf edge look far more aligned with the window seal than mine. My wiper cover evidently needs to sit below the window seal not above it. Now comes the challenge of getting it there without breaking anything 😬
