I already posted this on the 964 board; thought some of the 993 folks might be interested.
Autoweek has a 92 Porsche 911 Carrera Cup Car advertised in this weeks issue. 21K miles. It is on page 31 of the August 2nd issue. No affiliation, etc.
If you don't get Autoweek and are interested, I will send the contact info.
No price is quoted. Says one of 45 cars built (those numbers match up with the article in the February 2004 issue of Excellence). 1 owner car, not much other info is provided. It is being sold by a dealer. Says car has never been raced.
Just thought I'd mention this one because they don't come around everyday. I have no info on it's condition or authenticity.
for what it's worth....
Happiness to all.

its worth about $75,000 or more. This is a very special limited edition car, not a poseur limited edition such as the Silve Anniversery Edition, etc. My buddy "Cup Car", a frequent contributor to Rennlist, bought one new..he still has it and autocrosses it at the Qualcomm Statium in San Diego regularly.

I had the pleasure of driving one in '94. Responsive, handling was pure fun (you are really connected to this car), shifted pretty nice (stronger gearbox-steel synchros on first couple of gears), The SOUND. If I had to guess, it's slightly faster than a stock 993.
Yes, these are special Porsches.
goodnight to all

Here is another little known fact. What late model Porsche car(993 and earlier) has the lowest CD (coefficient of drag)? The 964 coupe. Put a TechArt front spoiler on, add the whale tail and this car will really stick to the track. In stock form, the 964 coupe has a better CD than a 993 coupe, both with electric tails.
The 964 Cup Car is one to lust after. If you can buy one, you wont lose a dime on it...as long as you don't crash it!
The 993 with the 993 aero package is another story. It has 0 lift at 170 mph, or so the Porsche spec book says. I can tell you from personal experience, this package really works.
