993, Bad as a Grocery-Getter?

Oh yeah - I'm an errand runner. I even use my car for work, lugging digital cable tv boxes, cable wire and a toolbox to do my cable tv installs! Yes, I'm the cable guy (mostly sales) but I sometimes have to do some of my installs. It's really a trip to pull up to one of my buildings and get my equipment all neatly tucked away in that cavernous "trunk" out and prepare to do the work. Driving that car makes me really happy. My manager noticed that I've been driving it lately to do my installs. He said "WHY don't you just buy a beater for work???"
Because I don't want to. I drive so much during the day, who wants to drive a POS when I can drive a superbly handling handbuilt masterpiece - even if some of my trips are kind of on the short side.
I don't care about that mean old CEL light (which is eternally on). So my car putters a bit more on take off in the morning than other 993's. What me worry? Secondary air injection? I laugh at you and you're stupid warning codes you produce in my Equus code reader. I'll drive this car for any reason, any time, no matter how short the distance, no matter the consequence.

The Porsche engine (all of them) are designed to give immediate oil pressure and with the thinner synthetics--it works very well. If you have the opportunity to take the car out once in a while for a longer and "spirited" drive there should not be a problem with carbon build-up. However, I did have a problem with short drives once when I lived only 1.5 miles from work. The exhaust system did not have a chance to get hot enough to evaporate all of the water built-up during the cool-off period each day. Consequently I found I needed a new exhaust system in less than 2 years. Not a big deal. Just drive the car and enjoy it!

You'd be surprised how many times you'd see my 993 in the wal-mart parking lot... The added benefit (in addition to the fold-down jump seats in the back) is that I'm always the only Porsche in the parking lot

Depends... ours is not practical.
LWF and racing clutch make it a tender balance.
Then there is the full racing cage with door side bars, 6 point racing harness, no AC etc.
Not really good for shopping but.... oooh! the fun getting there!
