Got some new gauge faces and clock is dead. So planning on changing faces, new lights, replace fading lcd, fix clock. Found these guys in Atlanta - Atlanta Speedometer. Found Specialty Gauge on RL search.
Any recent experience with either? good or bad?
Any feedback or other suggestion much appreciated.
Thanks everyone. Reached out to John and will see if we can work it out as he is quite busy as one can imagine.
@Cupcar , thanks for that. They seem like the real deal. Not sure if what I need now needs full overseas shipping and so on. May reach out to them when ready for a full redo of the interior.

Sending them DHL to Germany worked for me. I originally sourced only the gauge faces from Classic with a plan to have them installed here. I wanted white needles too. The quote was over $1200 and the company said "we need to send the needles to Germany for painting". It turned out that was Classic!!
So I contacted Classic and they quoted me around $400 to recondition the gauges, paint the needles and install the faces. I wish I had sent them the instruments in the first place when I ordered the faces!!

Huhm, I may need to rethink my plan. Thanks for that! John is pretty booked and may not get to them for a couple months. let me reach out and see what they say!

Try to make sure Classic understands that you want DHL air shipment if that is desired, to Germans DHL is their regular post office.
Just to close the loop. Reached out to classic. They would not install an outside face because they cannot guarantee their quality as they manufacture their own. They also mentioned shipping from the USA to Germany has become very complicated and expensive.
They mentioned they work closely with Palo Alto Speedometer: Palo Alto Speedometer, Inc. 718 Emerson Street Palo Alto, CA 94301-2410
In the end, I will go with Atlanta Speedometer. They are the ones that can get to it the fastest (yeah its a little warning). They seemed quite knowledgeable on the phone and what I am doing is quite simple. I will take my chances and share results with the group.
Please keep us posted on how it works out. A number of shops mentioned in this thread (Palo Alto Speedometer and North Hollywood Instruments in particular) have gotten less-than-stellar reviews over on PP recently due to long turnaround time and astronomical cost. IIRC John came on the scene 2 - 3 years ago originally as an "insider tip" but it seems that he is also quite established with a long lead time.

Sad how times have changed. I forgot about the issues now with international shipping now and should have since I recently ordered a leather apple watch band from Bandwerk in Germany (nice bands BTW) and was surprised that the customs duty plus the import fees from FedEx came to $40 on a $140 band.
I have ordered lots of things from Europe (where I have family) over many years and the watch band was the first duty I have paid.

Indeed. Went through a lot of this recently as I purchased some parts from Europe. One thing I noticed after I got a sticker shock with the invoice for import fees that I received a couple weeks after the box was delivered was that a lot of the import fees were incorrect. Internet (and perplexity) were my friends in disputing the charge with the correct fee.
