I am waiting for a carfax report from a friend tomorrow first to see the owner history and location history BUT there is a good chance we will be seriously interested in a car (non porsche but enthusiast car) that is located in marina del ray (about 10 minutes drive away from LAX on Lincoln)

...is there any fellow rennlister very close to that location that can take a quick look if we need a set of eyes before flying out?



NO ONE needed yet... but curious to know if any of you are conviently close (like 10 minutes away or less...)?????

I live near there too, and my mechanic is there, so I would have no problem helping if you need me. BTW, what's the name of the place where the car is? I've been to a place on Lincoln that sells Porsches. I looked there before I bought my car somewhere else.

I just sent a PM to Craig MX7 who lives in Marina Del Ray...

...I haven't gotten the carfax yet so I don't want to waste anyone's time without having that info first. If the car proves to be a snowbelt car instead of a CA car, we won't want it.

The dealer is Checquered Flag International (in case any of you have heard of them).. They happen to have a beautiful speed yellow GT2 right now (NO, it isn't what we are interested in.... LOL) ...We are interested in a NON Porsche they happen to have...

I've been thinking of going over there myself. If your initial plan falls through, let me know and I could serve as a backup. This would give me a nice excuse to expand (read: increase budget) the range of my car search.

This is quite a turnout for a non-Porsche. I can't even imagine what the turnout would be for a Porsche. If it was a GT-2, Fred would probably plan a So. Cal fun run around it and quite possibly take the car for a test drive (up to Malibu of course)

o.k. carfax shows it only California owned..

...so now the questions are: Any sludge build up inside crank case/on dip stick
Any sign of repainting (overspray)?
Any sign of mismatched panels/accidents?
Clutch feel strong?
Engine easy startup?

Really, I need to know!...I pass by the showroom everyday. What is it? For what its worth, I have looked at a few cars over the years and they all seemed clean and priced in-line with the market.
