Default Nice, discrete whale tail...

Lots of you guys like adding a wing to your cars, so thought you might like to see the discrete wing this guy came up with for his 993 RUF turbo:

This gets posted here about once every month. It was put on for one run and was actually functional and lowered his times. That guy knows what he's doing, he isn't some ricer with a fat wallet.

I believe that's Steve Beddor's (sp?). A huge Audi/Porsche family that frequently raced at Brainerd when I was a kid. I remember his Audi Quattro Sports (kevlar bodied) - yes, plural - sitting at Carousel Audi/Porsche in Mpls. when I had my Audi serviced there in high school.

Phil,

would you mind posting the picture here or saving it somewhere else. I cannot access the website, the damn local ISP censorship identified it as a forbidden site!
Thanks

Thanks Stevo. I don't understand the need of going so high up in the air on that yellow car, I don't think it helps downforce any better than a wing at roof height. It might actually destabilize the car. But Phil is right, it's quite discrete.

Then again, what do I know.

That looks excessive, is it so that someone can go roof surfing?

This is Beddor's car, it is very fast and well driven. I think the angle of the picture makes the wing look bigger and taller than it is.

Cool

Well, it (the yellow one) looks to be a genuine RUF CTR2, which is pretty aggressive looking as it comes from the factory, and is designed to generate loads of downforce - which is why its not much faster than the original CTR.

Grafting the GT2 Evo Boomerang on top is a little excessive ! but if you can afford the package (and it makes you faster), you may not care what insignificant people like us think!

Cheers, Maurice
