Kim,

don't get me wrong, this guy paid silly money to have it done 'professionally'.

I believe the kit from Gert is a lot cheaper than that. When I asked it was in the order of 1k GBP for a LHD kit which then needed modding to become RHD, compared to 400 GBP
for the Autolamps upgrade.

Curtis, its not 'auto levelling', its manual
I'm sure some of you lot inthe US have this - I recall some people posting pics. Maybe it was John D's grey interior that had it...

Cheers,
John.

John

I seem to recall when we were going through our conversion process that the US cars did not have levelling motors.

Anyway how's life? I visited Gert and he did his best to tempt me with his goodies, but I was skint. He and Maureen made me very welcome and I was pleased that I went to him for the parts. Tried Bilstein set up at Donnington on Tuesday, back end was as twitchy as hell. I was advised to tighten up front roll bar as a starter, will do this over the Xmas holiday.

Have a good Xmas.

Steve,

sorry I missed you message before the break.
I hope you had a good one. Glad you enjoyed your visit to Gert asnd his family. Top bloke, eh.

If no US cars have levelling, then I stand corrected (or is that levelled...)

PT, Autolamps are in the UK. There is a contact number and email addres on thier site, but just for you, its autolamps-online@autolamps-online.com.

Question

John W, I looked at Autolamps.com and now I'm confused by their application's page. I use H1's for both high and low beams; They show no simular arrangement. It appears to me that the D2R would work best with the type of projecter low beams on our 993's ?Also, still unable to come up with a phone number? Every few months I have long Brighton layovers and could possibly pursue this in person. I'm also interested in your discount and the password for same. Your advice and assistance is greatly appreciated as I'm tired of driving in the dark! TKS PT

PT,

appologies, I too can no longer find their number on their site.

I would suggest you send them an email, and ask them how they wish you to proceed.
I'll mail you direct with the password.

The kit you require is an H1 Kit, which has special H1 mount HID bulbs.
The D2S and D2R are both standard fit bulbs, that will not fit inot our 993 lamps without modifying them (lamp or bulb).

I feel sure that by now they will realise what you need, since others have been ordering over the last couple of months with no problem.
If you have any problems, mail me and I'll see what I can do to help.

Cheers,
John.
