Yes, the Osram are halogen hi beams, but match the color temp of the led's that come with the kit.

No, you don't need to purchase additional LED bulbs for low beam, they are incorporated into the Bi-LED projectors that EMT has prepared for us.

The wiring loom he put together connects to both the low beam LED projector/bulb and the hi beam bulb.

Watch the CB&D video above, which shows replacing the LED projector. As I mentioned in the post above, the only change i made from that video was removing the mounting post bracket to make hi beam bulb removal and positioning the new LED projector a bit easier.

The high beam bulb replacement requires disconnecting the two wires from the bulb, unhooking a spring lock, removing the old bulb, replacing with the Osram, then reversing the process (spring lock closed and hooked, then, after the projector is in place, connect all the wiring). Wiring the hi beam involves connecting the larger black clip on the EMT wiring loom to the back of the bulb, and the two wires to their respective wires on the EMT loom (they are different sized spades, so they can't really be reconnected incorrectly, but the small black-green wired one mates with the brown wire and the red/orange wired spade connects to the amber right angle connector/white wire.

Use the heat shrink he supplied for the ground spades on each unit so that no bare metal is floating around back there (see the blue heat shrink in my pic above).

Hope that helps.

From previous experience, do not touch the glass on the bulb. Skin oils can cause differential heating and burn it out fairly quickly. Fresh gloves or clean cloth to handle the glass part if needed would suffice.

My stumble point is that there are currently 2 bulbs and the original projector. High beam bulb swap and a projector swap, that I understand but what do I do with the other bulb ? does it just stay there?
Thank you for the help.

there is one bulb in the projector you remove (old halogen low beam) and a new led bulb already installed in the new projectors. So there are two new high beam bulbs and two new led projectors (both containing led bulbs). there are no other bulbs.

I finally had some time and spent about 1hr total making the swap from Morimoto projectors + BergvillFX T-Light combo with LED Hi-beams to the EMTuning set.

A couple of comments/ thoughts:
- I found the tolerances to be so tight that I had to remove the front support (held by 2 Phillips head screws). Most of the time was spent at this juncture as the spacing washers kept falling off the screws and into the headlight as I was trying to get into place.
- With the ballasts for low and high out of the headlight "box" there is a lot of space.
- Now I remember why I bought a set of security Torx bits... needed for LAST time I was inside these headlights...
- I did use marine grade heat shrink to cover all connections. Hopefully all wiring was done correctly- will find out when I bring to car (still in shop for alternator upgrade and hard top fitting).
- I have a major respect for anyone who does a DIY with images. I tried and while started ok, got super involved in getting the new projectors to fit without dropping the little rubber washers INTO the headlight space (at least 5 times each bolt!!!) that I neglected to continue with images...

Initial Bergville/ Morimoto + hi-beam LED setup

Previous stuff cleaned out

Yes - it's SUPER tight tolerances - new EMTuning low beam and hi-beam installed

I”m jealous. I was’t going to do this. Waiting for Bergvill’s replacement product. But now, I think I’ll go for it. Thanks to all for the explanations.

Wired correctly - sometimes I surprise myself...
Of course I still need see if I crimped the ends and applied the heat shrink correctly and they still work after driving...

It works well. It’s a huge upgrade, reasonably easy to perform and a great value. I included the high beam bulbs as well. Night time visibility is as good as my late model cars. Highly recommended.

I had a stock setup before this upgrade. The high beams were absolutely necessary.

Thanks - how much have you used the lights since getting them? (I'm a little gun-shy after seeing the cycle of euphoria to disappointment play out with some other solutions.)

I've driven at night a handful of times and I have no regrets nor am I casting about for alternatives. I don't foresee that happening. Another benefit was that the aim, on both low and high beams was unchanged and remained spot on after the upgrade, fwiw. I also like that the original appearance remains unchanged (unlike the snazzy morimoto full replacement headlights, which I was also considering).

@EckFe1 , Thanks for the link. How do you mount these? Seems the kit from Trups, comes with a special mounting bracket? And Osram makes an LED for the high beam? Thx
