993 Bra
I am doing my first DE next monday and was searching for some paint protection in addition to my invincashield. I came across this a product called transseal by groco. (try a search). I spoke to the company and a gallon is about $30.00. It is used by some of the major auto manufacturers when they ship out new cars. Roll it on and peel it off after the event. The rep said to make sure you stay away from porus surfaces such as rubber. Here is the website. http://www.grocosc.com/transsealauto.ivnu (no affiliation blah blah). I wonder if anyone on the 993 board has used it.
I prefer "the Bro". I have one from Speed Lingerie, and it fits and looks great. It is very high quality. As long as you clean it regularly and make sure you take it off whenever you suspect you've driven in an area where dust or dirt or sand (or -gasp- rain)may have gotten under the surface, you'll be fine. I've seen no damage caused by mine.
Speed Lingerie is also color matched to your car. I have a glacier white car and it's hard to tell from a distance that it has a Bro. Also, spring for the mirror covers. My mirrors still look perfect, with just the occasional bug spot on the post.
I've used the Bro at several DE's and haven't had any problems with loose or ill fitting piece, nor any flapping.
One drawback I have is no coverage around the headlights. The bumper piece fits just to the top of the bumper, leaving the headlight washers clear to spray, and also keeps ill fitting pieces that go over the headlights from become dirt and rock collectors.
If you get one of these, I'd opt for one that does NOT have the hole for the license plate. Mine does, so I HAVE to have the plate on to avoid air going into the hole and flapping. Also, that means you have to dismantle the front plate assembly and remove it because the hole is just big enough for the two plastic blocks that hold the license plate holder. Pain in the neck to clean the car and/or Bro.
