Post Front windshield squeek question

I don't know if I have the squeek coming from the front weatherstrip around my windshield or not...but I am getting a skrunch sound(kinda like what a new leather chair sounds like when you sit and move around) when I go over uneven areas that throw a little torsion twist into my frame. My question...Is this the "squeek" everyone refers to that can be cured by Pedros Ice Wax. Something new that I have never heard before...doesn't really bother me but I would like to "wax" it if that is the problem.
Thanks

from following the board there seems to be two common sounds emanating from the front of our beloved 993's and I have had them both.
#1. sound of car bottoming out caused by rubber sway bar bushing solved by removing said bushing & lubricating. Do a search you will find it.
#2. CREEKING sound from the windshield. Solved by a). Teflon rope b).Pedro's ice wax c). strut bar d). all of the above.
Of course my personal answer was D. Continuing w/ my experience; I tried Pedro's first and it works and better yet it is cheap $10 +/-. Try it! You might want to tell your wife you need that $285 strut bar even though IMHO it does little to help this problem but it will enhance your driving experience.

rcwelch,

Pedro's Ice Wax definitely worked on the windshield squeek, and I did not do the "rope." OTOH, now that that's quiet, I think I hear squeeks from the sunroof and door seals. Not nearly as bad as the windshield was, though.

What is Pedros Ice Wax and how would you apply it? Can you get it as PepBoys or any automotive store?

I would imagine you would take a piece of soft flat wood (to prevent scratches) to pry up the rubber weather stripping and then ??? Is this stuff a spray?

Pedros Ice Wax is a dry lubricant used for bicycle chains. most cycle shops should carry it. also available online.

i used a wood paper cutter to pry up the weatherstrip and sprayed Pedros in the gap - did both front and rear windshields. the spray can with the nozzle works really well. entire process took 20 min. or so and i'm really pleased with the results to date.
