Le Mans Update...
This is an incredible site – and for a lot of reasons… Here are just a few…
Last week, I mentioned that the Le Mans efforts and the announcement of the fund in memory of “Natalie L. Streather” was at risk – and many of you stepped forward with contributions and donations. You have our sincerest and warmest thanks for your support, and be assured that your Rennlist Lifetime Membership will be processed shortly and $250 of your donation will be placed in your name on the opening of the fund. After speaking to Adrian and Gail Streather this morning – I would also like to pass on their warmest thank you for all your comments and words of encouragement. I would also like to share some news that I spoke with them about earlier today…
Yes, The Racers Group is at Le Mans. Yes, they are competing in that race in a full-scale effort to win, even given some severe and persistent budget handicaps. Yes, on the front hood, you will see “Natalie L. Streather” – as a small decal that Adrian had requested to be placed near the leading edge of the hood. This is all going to happen – we are committed, The Racers Group is committed and Gail and Adrian are committed. And our thanks to many of you for allowing these commitments to happen…
As well - since there is no major Sponsor on the hood area - it also creates an opportunity for some smaller businesses that also are a part of Rennlist… After speaking to Kevin Buckler this morning, we would like to offer up to eight businesses and/or private individuals the opportunity to place a 4" x 6" decal on the prime spot of that hood area. The cost per 4" x 6" decal is $3,000, where 100% of the proceeds will go to assisting with the budget shortfall of The Racers Group. From Rennlist, I will continue to donate a Lifetime Membership ($500 - as per my previous note) as well as put a banner with your business in rotation throughout the Rennlist site for six months at no charge. If you buy two spaces ($6000) for a larger decal - you will get all of the above, plus a Sponsor tag line in Racing e-mail list (racing@rennlist.org) for one month. If you would like to participate - please e-mail me at johnd@rennlist.com - but I'll need a graphic pretty quickly (we have arranged for them to be cut in France and be ready for the race on Saturday :-)
Many of you have inquired as to whether you could purchase just a Rennlist Lifetime Membership for $500 – and donate to the opening of the Streather Fund when it was finalized. After speaking with Adrian Streather – yes, but we would like to ask that you please remember to donate to the Fund when it officially opens. So, if you would like to purchase a Lifetime Membership for $500 – please go to the Racing Site at <a href="https://rennlist.com/racing/" target="_blank">https://rennlist.com/racing/</a> . Should you choose to make a smaller donation – those would be gratefully accepted as well – and while I won’t commit to any benefits you may receive from a smaller amount – your support be recognized. This offer will be closed at the end of the race Sunday – June 16th, 2002.
Finally – I will be updating the Racing site <a href="https://rennlist.com/racing/" target="_blank">https://rennlist.com/racing/</a> on a frequent basis with new photos, news items etc. There is also a discussion Board there – so feel free to drop by and say “Hi”..! During the race – will be updating that site and e-mail lists with current standings and results…
