What I don't understand is how did the Corvette manage to disappear at the end. Why wouldn't it be able to do that earlier? Something tells me this was a staged race.

Hi Viken, I might be able to answer that, I was onthe ring last week-end, my 1st time! and it was mind blowing, there are 3 sections where you can go full out, the fastest one is the long straight at the end (3 km), and on the clip you can see that on each of these the Corvette pulls away. The rest of the track is very very twisty, and goes up and down, the knowledge of the lines is more important than power!
During the first 4 laps ,I was being overtaken by everything that moved (including small bmw's and golf gti's ), later it got better ,but only marginally. I did 14 laps, and I think i know less than a third of the track ...Great video, Thanks.

Viken, As an owner of a Lotus I really enjoyed the footage. I'd like to think the footage was real and not staged. Lotus cars have always been great around a twisty track. Mike W 95 993

Great video. Difference in driver ability and course knowledge can have a lot to do with the relative performance of the two cars. Things I can be sure of from that video:
1. There is no susbtitute for HP. The Vette dissapears when the road straightens out.
2. The Lotus sounds way cool.
3. I'd rather be driving either of those two cars on that circuit rather than sitting in front of this computer right now
