Definitely the way to go! I have this (mounted on passenger side central tunnel area) and it's very functional, cheap, and is invisible to the unsuspecting eye (my interior is black).

I think he means LA Porsche Dismantlers 818-767-7243. No affiliation, etc.

I don't know whether this is of any use to you, but there is a console CD box in black (I assume plastic not leather) up for sale in Germany on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

Good luck!

Kim, I think its classic grey. Now thats it's been awhile since I've had to ID different greys for orders I'm kinda loosing that. I don't really like the factory one because it's hard to get to and it kinda gets in the way when you shift into 2nd. If you're still interested send me a pm.

I removed my cass. holder, too. I put a very thin (1/8") kitchen sponge on the bottom of the "hole" for a liner/drip absorber. A common 12 oz. beverage can fits in there nicely. For a perfect fit to hold the can during hard acceleration, I cut a thin piece of black hard plastic with a "C" shape on one side, and press fit it into the rectagular opening, near the top. I remove this piece when using a square water bottle.
This holds the drink low enough for more elbow room.

LA Porsche is a dismantler, so the parts will be used. They seem to have most things in stock.

Try here.
