I found a place last night that sells 103 octane unleaded made by VP Racing Fuels. I'm giddy as a schoolgirl with Backstreet Boys tickets since it is almost on my way home.
It's McValley Oil on the corner of Del Norte and Sturgis just South of the 101 in Oxnard.
Can anyone tell me at what ratio I would have to mix 103 with 91 to end up with 93 or better?
Is it possible that it's just a ratio/volume calculation and I could just do the math? (My usual experience is life is never that simple.)
I can only find mixing charts for 100 octane.
This stuff is $5.25 per gal as opposed to $4.25 per gal for Unocal 100, but if I can use one gallon less than the 5 gallons of 100 that I usually mix, it would be a wash.
Cheers,
Scott

Try looking here:
<a href="http://www.easystreet.com/~porsche/2a.html" target="_blank">http://www.easystreet.com/~porsche/2a.html</a>
And search for "mixing chart" ( about 1/2 way down the page).
It's Steve's page on gasoline mixing ratios. However it's for mixing 100 octane with 91. NOT 103, but it might get you pretty close.

Scott:
I believe, it is just a simple volume ratio calculation. The spread from 91 to 103 octane is 12 octane point. If you are going to raise 2 point from 91 to 93 then you need to have one part of 103 octane for every 5 parts of 91 octane gas.

Scott -- It's as easy as doing the math.
