Can some help me? I am about to close a deal on a 1996 993, but would like to see the CarFax report.

WP0AA2998TS322957

Can someone run this VIN for me?

Thanks

One word of caution on carfax, it is not a substitute for a good inspection from a qualified body shop or someone with similar skills. Recently I was ready to pull the trigger on a 97 993 that carfax indicated was clean and accident free. I was going to have the PPI done when a dealer friend also ran an AutoCheck, another version of carfax that I think may only be available to dealers, and this report came back with "major accident damage at 13,000 miles" report. I am confident the PPI would have revealed the repair but I was a little disappointed that one reporting company had the information and carfax did not.

Yea I found the same to be true of CARFAX and/or Autocheck. Neither is 100% accurate. The indication "Major accident damage" may show up when there is an accident reported but not big enough to total the car.

It looks like AutoCheck offers the same service as Carfax...available to consumers. I might check it to compare with a Carfax.

Well I paid $15 for peace of mind and I agree with everything you said. Much less detail and information than Carfax. Pretty skimpy actually. But I guess I do have peace of mind!
