Hi all. I recently picked up a '97 C4 cab and it came with a non-original shift ****. I am not a 993 expert, so after some furious Googling I am trying not to get excited about what this **** might actually be. What do you guys think?
Yes, it is from Porsche's "Tequipment" line of accessories. This one is carbon (more rare/valuable).
It is "Gen 2" as TakeFour mentioned, meaning the font style in the engraving is slightly different than the Gen 1s, which were larger and slightly different font for the numbers.
Yours is the carbon fiber/aluminum X option (X47) which was std on the Turbo S. Porsche also offered a full carbon shifter which was option X63. The X63 is far less seen as most ordered the X47 option. The handbrakes that went with them were X58 for the CF/aluminum (also std on the Turbo S) and the full carbon one X64.
