Default 993 trunk layout

I want to detail the trunk on my "new" '98.

Even though the car is in great shape, it's old and it seems the old glues they used back then dry out and stop working.

I notice a couple of rubber strips glued to the trunk floor, probably to cushion the spare. They're all loose with failed glue. It also looks like one may be missing as there is evidence of glue but no strip. Maybe the PO removed it finding it sliding around.

Anyway, I'd like to know exactly how the trunk is supposed to look so I can bring it back to completely original specification. Can anyone provide a detailed description or a couple of pics?

Thanks!

hawk993, if you don't mind, where is your air pump? Mine did not have one originally and I am unsure exactly where it fits. I have it in the middle of the spare tire but that seems to make the carpet bulge.

everything fits in the spare tire, airpump, tools, OBDII scanner, wheel lock key...I took it out for the picture, it does not cause my carpet to bulge, everything lays flat. The CD player takes up some room re luggage though, but it's the Porsche CD changer, it's going to stay.

I'd be interested to see how you fit everything in the spare. Mine only has room for the air pump. The tools go on the elastic bands on the carpet and the jack I have tucked under the the left side of the latch.

I have the porsche air pump, plus it points out in the owner's manual that all this stuff should fit in your spare tire...here's a shot...

I can't tell what all of that is but I'll happily take your word for it.

I did not mean to suggest you were telling a lie, just as Kim points out, I can't get anything other than my gloves to fit in the center of the spare - the air compressor that came with my car takes up the entire center. And I could not recognize the jack and handle and the tool kit in your pic. I do appreciate your posting it though.

Yup, that's what takes up the center of my spare.
